World’s Best Fudge!

These past couple weeks have been lacking posts due to other obligations so I will fill in with a holiday treat I just made.  My mom has the best fudge recipe ever and has taught all of us girls how to make it.  It seems that the fudge is usually only made during Christmas time to be given away to neighbors and friends so we all look forward to this time of year (unless we are all together during the summer and get bored so decide to make fudge and then watch a movie while it sets up, then start to wonder where our 3 year old girls are when they show up saying “MMMMMMMMMM” with chocolate all over their faces and BIG spoonfuls of fudge missing from the pan…even the little ones know how good it is!)

Start by gathering all of your ingredients together and buttering a 9x13 pan.

Combine chopped candy bars and chocolate chips in a large bowl.  My bowl was a 32 cup bowl and worked great!  Plenty of room to mix so less mess.
PC150017
Put butter, sugar, evaporated milk, and 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows in a saucepan.
PC150019
Boil on medium heat for 9 minutes, stirring constantly but DO NOT TOUCH the sides of the pan!  If you touch the sides of the pan it will make your fudge grainy rather then smooth and delicious!

After 9 minutes of boiling, pour over chocolate and add 2 teaspoons vanilla.

After it is mixed, add remaining 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows and 1 pound nuts (optional).  Stir until marshmallows are melted.

Pour into buttered 9x13 pan.  Wait a little while for it to cool and set up and enjoy it cut into bite size pieces or in spoonfuls!

Fudge
20 ounces Symphony Bars or Hershey’s Bars, chopped (We prefer symphony)
1 package Chocolate Chips (we like semi sweet)
1 cup Butter
1 can Evaporated Milk
4 cups Sugar
5 cups Mini Marshmallows, divided
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1 pound Nuts (optional)
Combine candy bars and chocolate chips in large bowl.  Put butter, milk, sugar and 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows in saucepan.  Boil on medium heat for 9 minutes stirring constantly but DO NOT TOUCH sides of pan.  Pour over chocolate and add 2 teaspoons vanilla.  After mixture is mixed, add remaining 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows and 1 pound nuts.  Stir until marshmallows are melted.  Pour into buttered 9x13 pan.  Enjoy!

  2. I LOVE fudge, but I'm vegan. I found a great recipe for vegan peppermint fudge that I will be posting next week. For now, I will just drool over your pictures. :)
