Ana White’s 10 dollar ledges

After living in our new home for just over three months, I am proud to say we finally have pictures on the walls!  I am beyond excited…  I love pictures and love showing them off, and what better way to do that than to have them displayed beautifully on your walls.

I followed Ana White’s plans, with some help from my Dad and Husband (THANK YOU) and then finally got them stained and finished last weekend.  I think they look pretty great!

Bathroom Redo

Now, in  all fairness, I know I did promise you pictures of a closet weeks ago.  In my defense, it is done (almost), but the pictures are on my old camera and it's a pain to pull out, and I got distracted.  I'll try and get them up next week.

In the meantime, I have an even MORE exciting project to share.  Forever ago, I received some free paint.  It's was a fine color (a sea blueish), and there were 5 gallons of it.  I painted a couple spots in our kids/main bath to see if I liked it, but realized the paint was cheap and there was NO WAY I was going to bother painting with it.  So, it sat like that, and sat, and sat, while more "important" projects kept getting done first.  Well last week, my husband walked in and said "just paint this bathroom, just use that color in the garage" (yes, I still have the cheap paint).  I explained I couldn't use it and for me to paint the bathroom it was going to take a little more than paint as I wanted to make a few other changes.  "How much?"  Well....  this time, not that many actually (right now, I have a few more plans for later, and I only spent about $100, so without further ado.  This isn't really a tutorial, just a before and after, but I'll give you a cost breakdown too.  I absolutely LOVE the transformation and finally have a bathroom I can be proud to have guests use.

A Ladybug Birthday…

We’ve been busy at our house!  Our baby just turned ONE!  It is hard to see that first year pass by so quickly, but so much fun to look back and see just how much they have changed and grown.
For Miss P’s Birthday, we celebrated with a Ladybug theme.  I didn’t post instructions on anything, but feel free to email me and I will send any your way.  We started out with the outfit, there always has to be a Birthday outfit, and this was no exception.  I began by making the skirt, following these instructions, but altering them just a bit.   Then appliquéd a ladybug on a t-shirt I purchased at Target.  I will say though, Cherokee t-shirts are WONDERFUL to appliqué on!  Just soft, and easy to use.

Sugar Cookies!

Sugar cookies seem to be a treat that can be made year round but always make an appearance at my house around Valentine’s Day!  Nothing like a big soft sugar cookie shaped like a heart covered in frosting and sprinkles to show you love someone!  I don’t have very good step by step pictures on this one because I had some “help” but it is an easy recipe.

Look what I made... A Little Table

If you haven't heard of Ana White's website, you are missing out.  She has TONS of fantastic plans to build your own furniture.  They are super easy to follow.  I loved these end tables, but i didn't need end tables, I needed a table for my little man to play on.  I had already purchased 2 chairs for him and have thought about what to do about a table for a long time.  When I saw these plans... I knew exactly what I wanted.

Chocolate Dipped Meringues

Meringues are one of my very favorite treats.  So much so, they were even served at my wedding.  Dipping them in chocolate just makes them oh so much better.  Turned pink, and they make the perfect Valentine treat. I even have a delicious Christmas variation at the bottom.
