Pumpkin Bread

With fall in full swing, nothing is better then my house full of the wonderful smell of pumpkin baking in the oven!  I love fall and everything about it, mostly the food.  This pumpkin bread recipe was first introduced to our family by a family friend.  It is super yummy and easy to make.

First you mix together all of the dry ingredients: Flour, Baking Powder, Salt, Baking Soda, Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, Brown Sugar, Oatmeal, and Nuts (I like pecans with pumpkin).

In a separate bowl, mix all of the wet ingredients: Egg, Oil, Milk, Pumpkin.

When both bowls are mixed well, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.

Mix together just until moistened.  Pour into a greased loaf pan.

Bake while you enjoy your house filling full of the wonderful smell of fall and pumpkin.  After waiting as long as you can, you will get a beautiful loaf of yummy bread.

It is best if you wrap it in plastic wrap and store in the fridge for a day, but who can really resist eating a piece of yummy bread right out of the oven?  So I always enjoy a nice hot piece and store the rest in the fridge.
The recipe is:
PUMPKIN BREAD
1 cup Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Ginger
1/4 teaspoon Cloves
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Oatmeal
1/3 cup Nuts, chopped
1 Egg, beaten
1/4 cup Oil
1/3 cup Milk
1 cup Pumpkin (I just used canned)
Mix dry ingredients together.  Mix wet ingredients together and add to dry.  Mix just until moistened.  Pour into a greased loaf pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.  Best if wrapped and stored in fridge for a day.
Enjoy!

  1. "YUMMY"... I LOVE that there is oatmeal in it too and I am DEFINITELY making a loaf or two...Probably two, because when something THIS GOOD comes out of the oven the first loaf will "Disappear like magic"!!!
    Hugs to you, Donna
